When it comes to winter, it’s safe to say that sometimes our gardens can take a beating, especially due to the unpredictable British weather. Porcelain paving is the perfect year-round landscaping solution but especially so in winter. Let us tell you why.

In winter, all you need to do is ensure that you sweep away dead leaves and other accumulated debris resting on the surface of the slabs to prevent marks or staining. If you act fast, porcelain paving is actually stain-resistant so it shouldn’t be an issue.

If winter conditions are giving your porcelain paving slabs a hard time, you may wish to wash them down occasionally. A bucket of warm soapy water and a cloth is enough to wipe the tile surface and get rid of any pesky marks or surface residue. It’s as easy as that!

What’s more, porcelain paving helps keep your garden safe in winter. The slabs are non-porous, which means that water will not penetrate the surface of the paving. In winter, of course, water freezes and turns into frost and ice which can cause natural stone paving to crack. However, this is not the case with porcelain paving because it is frost-resistant.

As well as being resistant to frost, porcelain slabs help to prevent slipping. The surface of porcelain paving is rugged and manufactured with a UK standard R11 anti-slip finish to increase safety.
